Pioneers of the Migneau family

Jean Mignault-Châtillon was baptized on April 20, 1622 in Châtillon-sous-Bagneux, Hauts-de-Seine, France. Son of Nicolas Mignault and Madeleine de Brie, he married Louise Cloutier on November 10, 1648 in Beauport. Louise is the widow of François Marguerie and daughter of Zacharie Cloutier and Saintes Dupont. They had 13 children. Soldier enlisted in La Rochelle, France, he came in New France in 1643. He first settled in Quebec, then Beauport. In 1647-1648 with the help of Hurons, he went to fight the Iroquois in the vicinity of Montreal and then, he went to the Hurons' country as a spokeperson of the governer of the colonie. He died before the 1681 census.

Jean-Baptiste Mignault-Labrie was born circa 1665 in St-Germain-Laxis, Seine-et-Marne, France. Son of Louis Mignault and Jeanne Chaillou-Chazou, he married Marie-Sainte Boucher, daughter of Pierre Boucher and Marie-Anne St-Denis, on November 7, 1689 in Château-Richer. From this union were born 10 children. He settled in Rivière-Ouelle. His wife died in 1717. He married Marie-Anne Dubé on March 4, 1726 in Rivière-Ouelle. She was the widow of Jean-Baptiste Grondin and the daughter of Mathurin Dubé and Anne Miville. From this union were born 3 children. He was buried on December 6, 1735 in Rivière-Ouelle.
