History and origin of the Desnoyers family

François Desnoyers-Lamontagne was born circa 1657 in Lescar, Pyrénées-Atlantique, France. Son of François Desnoyers and Catherine Defayette-Defaillet, he married Marie Perreault on September 11, 1699 in Montreal. Catherine is the widow of Jean Cousin and the daughter of Paul and Marie Chrétien. From this union were born 4 children. He is a soldier of the compagnie du Sieur de Maricourt when he settled in Montreal. He died on December 28, 1718 and was buried in Montreal the next day.

Jacques Desnoyers-Lajeunesse was born circa 1644 in France of unknown parentage. He married Marie-Anne Goguet, widow of Jean Grou, and daughter of Pierre and Marie-Louise Garnier on October 26, 1693 in Pointe-aux-Trembles. From this union were born 5 children. He was a soldier in the Compagnie du sieur de Marin when he settled in Rivière-des-Prairies. In 1709, he is part of the bidders that offerts more money to get the permission to built a bench in the Rivières-des-Prairies's church. He was granted the right to build a removable bench. He was buried in Rivières-des-Prairies on September 24, 1735.
