Pioneers of the Content family

Étienne Contant is born about 1643 in Buire (Saintonge, France). He is the son of Pierre Content and Marguerite Guernier. On October 14 1669, he marries Anne Laîné, daughter of Emmanuel Laîné and Jeanne Legrand, in Ste-Famille, Île d'Orléans. From this union, 6 children are born. He is a weaver of linen and a farmer. In 1666 and 1667, he works and lives in Île d'Orléans. In 1678, he moves to Québec. In 1681, he lives in Haute-Ville de Québec, and moves to St-Bernard de Charlesbourg. He dies on June 17, 1685. His widow remarries on October 27, 1685, to René Buisson.
