Pioneers of the Braseau family

Charles Brazeau was born circa 1671 in Paris, France. Son of Nicolas et Pierrette Billard, he married Geneviève Quenneville, daughter of Jean and Denise Marier, on October 5, 1693 in Montreal. From this union were born 16 children. A widow, he married Marie-Anne Marchand, daughter of François and Madeleine Groleau, on November 9, 1726 in Montreal. Marie-Anne died in 1734. Charles' third wedding was with Marie-Jeanne Ménard-Fontaine, daughter of Jacques et Catherine Fortier, on August 22, 1735 in Boucherville. His union with Marie-Anne and Marie-Jeanne did not produce any children. He had learned the trade of cartwright from his father upon their arrival in New France in 1680. He died on April 25, 1750 in Montreal
