Robert Boulay was baptized on May 18, 1631 in Réveillon, Orne, France. Son of Marin Boulay and Charlotte Grattesac, he married Françoise Garnier-Grenier, of unknown parentage, on January 11, 1657 in Bivilliers, Orne, France. From this union were born 11 children, including a girl and a boy born in France. He arrived in the country in 1662 with his wife and daughter. We find him first in Tadoussac, then he settles in Île d’Orléans before going to live, after 1675, in Montmagny. He died on March 24, 1707 and was buried the next day in Montmagny.
