Pioneers of the Adam family

Jean Adam was born around 1641 in Brienon-sur-Armançon, Sens, Yonne, France. Of unknown parentage, he married Marie Mézeray, daughter of René and Nicole Garman-Picard, around 1673 in Quebec. From this union were born 9 children. This carpenter arrived in the country around 1663, and first settled down at Sillery, then Beaumont. In 1665, he it is said that he has lost his sight when he was in the woods. He then vowed to make a pilgrimage to Sainte-Anne-du-Petit-Cap and also in Italy: he saw again. He died in September 1711 in Beaumont.
