TAMARAC, Fla. -- Yves Marcel Laforest entered into eternal rest on November 10, 2005 after a brief illness. Born in St. Come, Quebec on June 2, 1931, he was a graduate of Three Rivers College and immigrated to the United States in 1954. He was a longtime employee of Iroquois Millwork and the NYS Department of Naval and Military Affairs. He was lovingly known as Pepiere, Pops, Frenchie and Pierre. He enjoyed hockey, golfing and his retirement in Fla. He is survived by Suzanne, his loving wife of 52 years; his seven children, Norman (Nancy), Joanne, Bob (Lisa), Raymond, Grace Cunningham (Andy), Paul (Lisa) and Linda Ayotte (Ron); 10 grandchildren, Kelly, Andrew, Maggie, Becky, Ben, Keith, Angela, Amber, Seth and Lauren; one great-grandson, Jaymin and three step-grandchildren, Nick, Vinnie and April. He was the son of the late Lionel and Justina Laforest and the brother of Estelle McCabe. Other siblings (predeceased) include Rolande, Marc, Claude, Aurele and Marcel. Funeral Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rt. 32), Waterford and at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Waterford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Friday 5-9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 to 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Florida Medical Center, 4900 Oakland Park Blvd., Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33313 in appreciation of the wonderful care they provided in his final days. He was loved by all and will be dearly missed. May he rest in peace.
