Obituary of William Tripp

William Osborne Tripp, 77, husband of Louise Blackwell Tripp, died Thursday, October 1, 2009. Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Perry Davis and Annie Belle McWhite Tripp. Mr. Tripp was Vice President of Sales for Mayfair Mills for more than 42 years. He was a member of Greer First Baptist Church. Surviving, in addition to his wife of 55 years, are two sons, William Tripp, Jr. and wife, Donna, of Greenville and John Tripp and wife, Brenda, of Lyman; a brother, Perry D. Tripp and wife, Joan, of Greenville; a niece, Ginger Cox and husband James; and great niece and nephew, Kelly and Michael Cox. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Charles Tripp. Memorials may be made to Pelham First Baptist Church, Family Life Center, 2720 Old Highway 14 S., Greer, SC 29650. Visitation will be held Friday, October 2, 2009, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown.
