Obituary of William-Elmer Sparks


ObituaryWilliam Elmer Sparks, 79, of Ft. Myers died Thursday, October 28, 2004 at Cape Coral. Mr. Sparks was a native of Cumberland, Maryland. He is survived by his loving wife Geraldine Fay Sparks, his son William S. Sparks of Ft. Myers, his daughter Carol Leah Sparks of Orlando, a sister Betty Decker of Washington, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mr. Sparks was a member of "The Quiet Birdmen", A.O.P.A., and the Rotary Club. He had been a pilot for 55 years and had operated the Merritt Island Airport. He authored the book "Close Encounters of a Vaggbond Ferry Pilot". There will be a service of remembrance at 6:00 PM Tuesday November 2, 2004 in the Anderson Funeral Home with Chaplain Michael Crigger officiating. It is suggested that memorial contributions be made to Hope Hospice. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home, 3654 Palm Beach Boulevard.
