William Carlos Webster (Carl) passed away on March 14, 2010, in his home in Fort Walton Beach, Fla.He was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Singeltary.He is survived by his sister, Renee Jernigan; and a brother, Benjamin Lassiter. Carl is also survived by seven children, Tracey Farmer, Steven Webster, Denise Reanos, Scott Webster, Timothy Webster, Carrie Martin and Daniel Webster; and 12 grandchildren.Carl graduated from Crestview High School and had attended Okaloosa Walton County Community College, where he played college baseball. He lived in the Fort Walton Beach area most of his life, and had a great love for travel, falling in love with the Branson, Mo., area where he eventually lived and worked for several years.Carl developed kidney failure seven years ago and had to go on dialysis. He remained on dialysis for seven years, then was blessed to have received a kidney transplant from his son-in-law, Herminio Reanos this past year. He fought long and hard against diabetes and dedicated the last several years of his life to the education and research of the disease.Carl was very passionate about life, and had a great love for his children, grandchildren, baseball, Andy Williams and Branson, to only mention a few. He knew how to love and appreciate the simple things in life. Carl never met a stranger and all that were blessed to know him, knew what a dear friend and father he was. He will be missed dearly, but never forgotten. A time of visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., on Thursday, March 18, 2010, at Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview, Fla.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., on Friday, at the funeral home, with Bishop Michael Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery in Crestview.Arrangements are entrusted to Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview.Guest Register and condolences are available online at www.whitehurstpowellfuneralhome.com.
