WILLIAM (BILL) BARBOUR August 20, 1950 - April 25, 2010 Passed away peacefully at home with family at the age of 59 after a recent onset of cancer. Much loved husband of Norma Kennedy. Devoted father of Stephanie and Carolyn. Dear brother of Jim (Donna). Beloved uncle of Kate (Andrew), Jamie (Jaclyn), Kate and Jen (Mario). Greatly missed by lifelong friends David and Linda Hall, Caron MacMenamin, cousins Pat (Bud), Lynn (Ross), Jim (Carolyn), Jay (Dot) and many old and new friends and colleagues. Bill's lifetime career was at Continental Can (now Crown Metal Packaging), where he made and maintained many friendships, especially with golfing buddies. Since retiring to his dream home in the Minden-Haliburton area, he took great pleasure in working on his cottage, entertaining friends and family there, designing and creating woodworking projects in his workshop and doing yard work, as well as keeping busy with a variety of local jobs. Special thanks to the staff of the Oncology Department of Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital and Haliburton's Access Centre for the excellent care they provided Bill during his last weeks. It was Bill's wishes for cremation and a private memorial celebration of his life. Memorial donations to the Oncology Department of Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital and the Access Centre of Haliburton would be appreciated and can be arranged at the Gordon A. Monk Funeral Home Ltd., PO Box 427, Minden, Ontario K0M 2K0. www.gordonmonkfuneralhome.com
