Obituary of Valeski-Walter Francis

VALESKI Walter Francis Valeski, age 82, passed away on Friday, March 21st, 2008 at home under Community Hospice care. He was born in Bingo, Wisconsin to the late John and Anna Valeski. At 17 years of age Walt joined the United States Navy and served in the South Pacific during World War II. In 1950, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin. Two years later, he received his Masters degree in Industrial Psychology from Kent State University. He was teaching at Kent State where he met his wife, Wanda. They married December 18, 1954 in Burlingame, California. After living in Chicago, New Jersey, and Pittsburgh the couple, with their 3 children, made their permanent home in Jacksonville, Florida. Walt owned and managed McDuff Appliances and later purchased the Julien P. Benjamin Equipment Company. He was also instrumental in his son Gregory's business Innovative Marketing Corporation. In addition to his parents and his brother Frank, Walt was preceded in death by his wife Wanda L. Valeski and his son Gregory W. Valeski. Walt is survived by his son Brent W. Valeski of Jacksonville, FL (Sharla) and his daughter Dr. Jennifer Foster of New Orleans, LA (David), four grandchildren, and his brother Bob Valeski (Beverly). Walt was an amazing father and dedicated husband. He was a champion of positive thinking and brought joy and happiness to the people in his life. A Memorial Service for Walter F. Valeski will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday March 29 at The Chapel, 1515 Prudential Drive, building 400 with the interment to follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
