HERMON - Thomas "Edward" Frost, 78, died Nov. 22, 2009, as a result of an automobile accident. He was born Sept. 7, 1931, in Hermon, the son of Freeman Frost II and Hattie Frost. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1962. Tom was a licensed master plumber and retired from the University of Maine after 23 years of service as the plumbing supervisor for the facilities management. In 1962, he founded Tom Frost and Sons Septic Service Co. He operated this family business until 1991 when he sold it to his son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Robin. Throughout his life he was very civic minded. He was a past member of Hermon Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, Hermon Odd Fellows Lodge No. 119 - IOOF, Good Sam's Club, Coachman's Camping Club and Hermon Snowmobile Club. Tom was a very hard working, dedicated father to all his family giving his help to anyone who needed it. He loved helping the snowmobile club and maintaining the Hermon trails. He could be found fishing, camping and hunting all throughout Maine. Tom is survived by his wife of 32 years, Frances (Giroux) Frost; two sons and their wives, Larry Frost and Robin, and Ron Frost and Tammy Robertson; his daughter and friend, Barbara Philbrick and Brent Burgess; stepchildren, Ora Davis, Patty and her husband, Herb Lebreton, Linda and her husband, Albert Higgins, Robert Davis, Debra and her husband, Charlie Dobson, Mike Davis and his wife, Cindy, and John Davis; two sisters, Virginia Munn and Joyce Wiles; his brother, Philip Frost; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Louise Frost; his brother, Freeman L. Frost III; granddaughter, Lisa M. Frost; and two grandsons, Benjamin and Jason Dobson. Friends may call noon-2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will begin 2 p.m. with the Rev. Garnett Chute, pastor of Hermon Baptist Church, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments immediately after the service at Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor.
