Obituary of Theodore-Amedee Labrie

SOMERSWORTH — Theodore Amedee Labrie, 77, of Somersworth, died Saturday morning, Feb. 19, 2005, at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester.He was born in Manchester on July 31, 1927, son of Amedee and Elumina (Letendre) Labrie. After high school, he served in the Army as an intercept operator and sharpshooting instructor. He was a graduate of the Wentworth Institute in Boston, Mass., Class of 1949. While raising a family and working full time at General Electric in Somersworth, he earned his bachelor of science de-gree in electrical engineering from the University of New Hampshire in Durham in 1967.He was a communicant of St. Martin Catholic Church, where as a younger adult, had spent more than 20 years teaching CCD. He was a good man who was always ready to help anyone and he practiced random acts of kindness well before it became popular. He enjoyed traveling and working on his house. He loved to walk the family dog and chat with neighbors and the other dog walkers in the neighborhood.He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rita (Lavoie) Labrie; his two daughters, Arlene Labrie and her husband, James Welsby, of Somersworth, Monica Labrie and her husband, Frederick Hunt Jr., of Rochester; his brother, Leonard Labrie of Manchester and several nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by a sister, Arline Labrie.Calling hours at Bernier Funeral Home, 49 South St., Somersworth, will be on Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Martin Catholic Church, West High and Maple Streets. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Somersworth.
