Talmage Eugene Jordan, 83, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, at Bay Medical Center. Talmage was born June 3, 1924, in White City, Fla., a son of the late Dan and Ada Sunday Jordan. Talmage was a supervisor for Dixie Service Cleaners from Panama City to Fort Walton Beach. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He enjoyed yard work, the outdoors and walking in the woods. Talmage especially loved his family. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Jean Browne Jordan of Panama City; one son, Leonard M. Jordan and his wife, Shirley, of Panama City; two daughters, Kathy Murphy and her husband, Mike, of Montgomery, Ala., and Pam Gyrski and her husband, Jerry, of Auburn, Ala.; one daughter-in-law, Brenda Jordan of Panama City; two grandsons, Andrew E. Jordan and Caleb M. Jordan, both of Panama City; three granddaughters, Carrie Fisher of Montgomery, Ala., Jennifer Murphy of Montgomery, Ala., and Ashley Beverley of Auburn, Ala.; two great-granddaughters, Anna Grace Murphy and Abbigail Hope Murphy; one great-grandson, Cooper Bradley Fisher; one sister, Evelyn Pines of Luverne, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007, in the chapel of Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Gay officiating, assisted by the Rev. Alan Ferguson. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Lennie Jordan, Andrew Jordan, Paul McGoey, Aaron Wagner, Kevin Oaks and Jack Whetstine. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 21, 2007, at the funeral home. The family wishes to express special thanks to High Praise Worship Center and the Springfield Methodist Church families. Thanks also to Jack and Jackie Whetstine of The House That Jack Built for ensuring that Talmage's house was completed, thus allowing him two full years to sit on his porch and enjoy his home. Thanks to Ann and Perry Dalton for their special prayers and to Miss Eva (a people greeter at Wal-Mart), who always brightened his day; to R.L. and Wanda Gay for always bringing him food that tempted his appetite; and to Genteva (especially Lance), a constant encouragement.
