Obituary of Susan Burton

Mrs. Susan Mayson Burton, 75, wife of the late Hugh Burton, of Burton Rd., died Tuesday, August 12, 2008, at Self Regional Hospital. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 14, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Gilgal Baptist Church. Burial will follow in church cemetery. Mrs. Burton was a native of McCormick County. She was a member of Gilgal Baptist Church and a retired secretary.Survivors include one daughter, Lynda B. Richard of Greenwood; two sons, Rick Burton and Pat Burton, both of Edgefield; three grandchildren, Jamie Vinson, Eric Burton, and Sullivan Richard; two great-grandchildren, Mayson and Jace; one sister, Irene Ellis of Abbeville; and one brother, Freddie Mayson of Greenville. She was predeceased by a son, Sullivan Burton.The family is at the home and will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home.
