Obituary of Sister-Helen Reed

REED Sister Helen Reed, SSND of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, 345 Belden Hill Road, Wilton, CT died on Monday, April 30th in Lourdes Health Center, Wilton, CT. Sister was born in Brooklyn, NY and entered the SSND in 1939 and was known for years as Sr. Mary Maelisa. Sister was a Middle & High School teacher for over 65 years, teaching at St. Ann's, Baltimore City, MD; Academia Del Perpetuo Soc., Miramar, PR; St. Saviour High School, Brooklyn, NY; Bishop Juwie High School, Zwedru, Liberia until her retirement to Wilton in 2000. Sister was 91 years of age and was predeceased by two brothers. Survivors include a sister, Barbara Reed of Mamaronek, NY and a niece, S. Elizabeth Johnson of Bronxville, NY and many friends in Upperco, Maryland and Elizabeth, New Jersey. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. in the SSND Villa Chapel, Wilton, CT with a Mass of Christian Burial. Relatives and Friends invited. Bracken-Donovan-Spodnick, Bpt. Directing. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bethel, CT. Memorials to SSND Mission Advancement Fund, Wilton, CT 06897 will be appreciated.
