Obituary of Sarah-Jane Newton

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Village Chapel for Sarah Jane Bradford Newton, age 80, of Gadsden who died August 21, 2014. Bishop H.L. Garner and Brother Paul Bowen will officiate. Burial will take place at Unity Baptist Church Cemetery, of the Duck Springs community.Sarah was a Christian mother who loved to cook and take care of her four boys. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Ervin and Cora Elizabeth Burton; and husband, William Thomas "Dub" Bradford.She is survived by her children, William Paul (Patti) Bradford, Roy Patrick (Rhonda) Bradford, Ronald Jay (Susie) Bradford and Donald Ray (Cindy) Bradford; numerous loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be Chris Bradford, Thomas Bradford, Trey Bradford, Adam Guthrie, Matthew Hanna and Ron Nance.Honorary pallbearer will be Matt Oakes.The family wishes to express a special thanks to all who cared and loved her.The family will receive friends Saturday at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m.Online condolences may be made at villagechapelfuneralhome.com.
