JEFFERSONVILLE ALLEN, ROSE ANNA, 84, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Weston Applegate Home, in Jeffersonville. She was a native of Frenchburg, KY, a homemaker, a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, in Louisville, loved vegetable and flower gardening, quilting, and traveled to all 50 states, while married to her husband during the last 28 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, William H. and Rhettie Ingram Gilley; and her sisters and brothers. She is survived by her husband, James O. "Jim" Allen; five daughters, Brenda McGavic (Dick), of Louisville, Donna Mattingly (Joe), of Jeffersonville, Sue Hartung (Keith), of Louisville, Shawna Allen, of Jeffersonville, and Deborah Churchman (John), of Louisville; three sons, Ron Phipps, (Margie), of Leitchfield, KY, Dennis Phipps (Melanie), of Charlestown, IN, and Randy Phipps (Debbie), of Nicholasville, KY; 25 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; their church family; and the many friends they met during their travels. Funeral services will be held at Scott Funeral Home's North Chapel at 1 p.m. Friday, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 1-8 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. at Scott Funeral Home's North Chapel. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, Hospice and Palliative Care of Southern Indiana or your favorite charity.
