Obituary of Robert-P. O-Dwyer


Robert P. Bobby ODwyer, 64, of Brockton, formerly of Harbour Grace, Newfoundland, passed away at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Brockton, Feb. 23, 2011. Born in New York City, he attended St. Francis School in Harbour Grace, NL, and Monroe-Woodbury High School in New York. Bobby served two tours of duty as a decorated U.S. Marine in Vietnam from 1965 to 1967. He was a proud member of VFW Post 2346 Saugus, American Legion, Royal Canadian Legion Post 23, Knights of Columbus Dalton Council and the DAV. He loved music and advocating for veterans and friends. Bobby is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Rob and Kay ODwyer of Winthrop; and his beloved granddaughter, Gemma. The family would like to thank the Emmanuel College community for their support, and the wonderful VA staff, especially the caregivers on the hospice and palliative care ward in Brockton for their love and compassion. Services will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, March 10, 2011, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be directed to the Richard J.
