Obituary of Robert-Irwin Morse

WASHINGTON - The funeral service for Robert Irwin Morse, 85, of Carrier Road, was held Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at 1 p.m. in The Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street Barre. He died Thursday, June 3, 2010, at the Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin. The Rev Ralph Howe, pastor of the Hedding United Methodist Church in Barre, officiated. The prerecorded hymns "Old Rugged Cross" and "Rock of Ages" were played during the service. Interment with military honors, rendered by the Joint Force Headquarters Funeral Honor Guard-VANG and members of the Corps of Cadets from Norwich University, followed at the Cheney Cemetery in Washington. Sergeant Leo Carvey, presented the folded U.S. flag to son William Morse and the Rev. Howe offered the committal prayers.Fellowship and refreshments followed at the home of his daughter Susan Spencer and son-in-law, Raymond Spencer, in Washington.
