Robert L. "Bobby" FreemanFALLS VILLAGE, CT - Robert L. "Bobby" Freeman, 74, of 5 Prospect St. died Saturday May 11, 2013 at the Geer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in North Canaan, CT. Robert was the long time companion for over 30 years of Pauline (Miller) DeBerry. Robert was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on February 8, 1939 son of the late Harry K. and Florence Amentha (Stevenson) Freeman.Robert worked as a construction worker. He enjoyed so much being outside. He was an avid gardener, loved planting flowers and taking care of his lawn. He was a fisherman, and hunter. He played baseball in his younger days, and loved spending time with his grandchildren, and grilling in his back yard.Bobby is survived by his two sisters: Emma M. Ennist of Poughkeepsie, NY and Shirley Freeman-Woods of Beacon, NY; his five brothers; Leroy Freeman of Baltimore, MD; Larry and Richard Freeman both of Poughkeepsie, NY; Donald Freeman of Middletown, NY; and Allen Freeman of St. Petersburgh, FL. Additionally, Bobby is survived by 4 step-daughters: Marva Palmer, Lillie Miller, Melissa Wilson, and Alledra Howard. He is also survived by 10 step-grandchildren, 2 step-greatgrandchildren, and 1 step- great greatgranddaughter. He was predeceased by his three sisters Ida Toles, Florence Humes, and Barbara Dixon; and his two brothers Harry Freeman Jr. and Raymond Freeman. Bobby was also predeceased by his two step-sons Jamie and Jarrett DeBerry.Funeral services will be held on Friday May 17, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Newkirk-Palmer Funeral Home 118 Main St. North Canaan, CT 06018. Burial will follow in Salisbury Cemetery, Salisbury, CT. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 am until the service begins at 11:00 am.
