Obituary of Robert F. Dwyer

Robert F. Dwyer -->Robert F. Dwyer, 86, of Norwell, passed away on March 24, 2015. Son of the late Henry and Evelyn (Moran) Dwyer, he was born on March 28, 1928 in Queens, NY and has lived in Norwell since 1957. He attended St. Johns University and Boston College Law School, and was later employed as a trust attorney. Robert proudly served his country as a Lieutenant in the Army during the Korean War. He was the past President of the Neighborhood Club of Quincy, member of the Marshfield Country Club for 47 years, member of Norfolk County and Mass Bar Association, past President of William B. Rice Eventide Home, Membership Director of the Chanticleers, NVNA Treasurer of Board of Directors and Chair of Finance Committee, Past Program Chairman for the Lions Club, Senior VP in charge of the Trust Division at Multi Bank, 2005 Citizen of the Year Norwell, Massachusetts, served on Norwells advisory board and capital budget committee, and a former board member of the South Shore YMCA. He was an avid golfer and bowler, and loved to dance and travel. Robert was known for his ability to bring a diverse group of opinions to a consensus and will be remembered as a humble man of great influence. Robert was the beloved husband of Dorothy T. (Malenchek) Dwyer. Devoted father of Michael A. Dwyer and his wife Jaye of E. Boston, Mark A. Dwyer and his wife Geri of FL, Susan M. Belisle and her husband Chuck of Weymouth, Steve Dwyer of Norwell, Andrew J. Dwyer and his wife Denise of FL, Martha A. Weber and her husband Carl of NY, and Kevin M. Dwyer and his wife Katie of NY. Dear brother of Kenneth and James Dwyer of NJ and Peggy Grey of FL. Cherished grandfather of 9. Visiting hours were in the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 551 Washington St. Rte. 53, Hanover on Friday, March 27 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Helens Church, 383 Washington St. Rte. 53, Norwell, on Saturday, March 28 at 10 a.m. Burial was in Washington St. Cemetery in Norwell.
