Obituary of Opal-Mildred Fleming


Opal Mildred Fleming, age 81, of Pensacola, passed away Monday, February 18, 2008. Mrs. Fleming was a native of Munson, FL and had resided in the Pensacola area most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Daniel Webster and Belle Wolfe Barnhill. Mrs. Fleming retired from Sears following 33 years in the accounting department. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Melvan Fleming; her sister Lillie Mae Bryan; and her brothers-Coleman, George and Clay Barnhill. Mrs. Fleming leaves behind to cherish her memory her sister-in-laws-Orelia (Jerry) King, Noma Lee Barnhill, Margaret Fleming, and Pat Fleming; one brother-in-law-Gene Fleming, and (Betti Robinson); and numerous nieces and nephews who have fond memories of spending time with Mildred and Melvin. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel with Rev. Alton Nixon officiating. Burial will follow in Milton Cemetery with Lewis Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, February 22, 2008 at Lewis Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Fleming's nephews-Wayne Barnhill, Todd Barnhill, Bryan Barnhill, Jerry Barnhill, Scott Faubel, and Steven Weyck. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Faubel, Mitchell Bryan, Roger Fleming, Randy Fleming, Aden Fleming, Alvan Fleming, and David King. "Mildred will be remembered for her love of nature, flowers, animals and will be missed by all who loved her."
