Obituary of Mary-W. Hancock

Mary Wynell Hancock, age 78, of Florence, died Monday, Feb. 13, 2006, at Glenwood Rehab Center. She was a native of Cullman, Ala., and had lived in Florence for the past 48 years. She was a member of Underwood Baptist Church and was a retired nurse's aide.Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at Greenview Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Greenview Memorial Park. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Dylan Calvert.She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Willie Heatherly, and siblings, Floy Simms, Shirley Heatherly, Ivloy Heatherly, Limas Heatherly, Kathleen Strickland and Thelbert Heatherly.She is survived by her husband, Alver Hancock; sons, Alver Terrell Hancock, of Decatur, and Preston Lynn Hancock, of Florence; daughter, Teresa Peters, of Florence; brother, Fulton Heatherly, of Cullman; sister, Audie Sims, of Arab; grandchildren, Danielle Peters, Brianna Peters, John Sterling Hancock, Nathan Brice Hancock and Brandon Micheal Hancock; and a great-granddaughter, Abigail Nicole Hancock.Pallbearers will be Neely Heatherly, Keith Knight, Roland Heatherly, Kelvin Heatherly, Bruce Hancock, Tommy Briggs, Jimmy Saddler and Danny Cromwell.Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry McGee and Nolan Blasingame.Greenview Funeral Home, of Florence, is directing.
