Obituary of Mary-K. Cochran


Mary Kathleen Cochran, 80, of the Central Heights community, passed away Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, at her residence after an extended illness.Visitation will be noon-2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at Greenview Funeral Home. Services will follow at 2 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Troy Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Park.Mrs. Cochran was born in Wayne County, Tenn., and was a member of Central Heights Baptist Church. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her sewing and cooking.Preceding her in death were her parents, Benjamine Horton and Molly Hall Horton; brother, Alenzo Horton; and sisters, Nettie Phillips and Virgie Richardson. Survivors include her husband, William Arthur Cochran Jr.; sons, Dale W. Cochran and wife, Susan, of Muscle Shoals, and Timothy Lynn Cochran and wife, Kimberly, of Florence; sister, Louise Marks; and grandchildren, Whitney Cochran and Caleb, Joshua, Lynea and Telia Cochran.Pallbearers will be Kenneth Brewer, Doug Baskins, Trigger Oakley, Herbie Harrison, Leo Kilburn and John Sandy. Honorary pallbearers will be the senior adult Sunday school class at Central Heights Baptist Church.The family would like to thank Blue Water Hospice for the excellent care given to Mrs. Cochran during her illness and also to Mid South Hospice, and her caregivers, Patricia Burbanks and Jennifer Martin.In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be given to the Central Heights Baptist Church building fund.An online guest book may be viewed and signed via timesdaily.com/obituaries.Arrangements by Greenview Funeral Home.
