BATEMAN, MARY HARDIN "HARDA," MORRIS, 87, died on Thursday, November 1, at Baptist Hospital East. She held a B.A. degree from the University of Louisville and a Master of Library Science degree from Spalding College, and had been librarian at The Kentucky Home School for Girls and Kentucky Country Day School. Harda had been a member of the Woman's Club of Louisville, the John Marshall Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Louisville Boat Club, Pi Beta Phi sorority, the Fillies, and the Pendennis Club. She had been a member and volunteer at Second Presbyterian Church. Her family appreciates the compassionate care provided by the Episcopal Church Home. Harda was preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest Woodward II; parents, Ben F. and Mary Hume Morris; and brother, Ben Hume Morris. She is survived by her husband, Wallace B. Bateman Jr.; her children, Kirk, Frances and Mary Alan Woodward; grandchildren Erin, Heather and Craig Woodward; and stepchildren, Wallace III (Jane), William B. (Tristan) and Joan Wendover Bateman. Private burial at Cave Hill Cemetery will be followed by a Memorial Service at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Luke's Chapel of the Episcopal Church Home, 7504 Westport Road (please use Lyndon Lane entrance). Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane. Memorial remembrances may be made to Wayside Christian Mission or the Cabbage Patch Settlement House.
