Obituary of Mary-Catherine Norton

NORTON _ Mary Catherine Passed away peacefully on July 19, 2006 in Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria at the age of 86. Mary was born in Stellarton, Nova Scotia, but lived most of her life in Vancouver. B.C. Since March, 2002, Mary lived happily at Berwick House in Victoria. Mary was a dearly beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She is survived by her daughter Julie Wilmott (Alan) of Victoria, her grandsons Andrew (Brandy) of Newcastle, Washington, Jeffrey (Aura) of Vancouver and Allister of Victoria. She leaves behind her brother Elmer (George) Hattie of Vancouver and several nieces and nephews. Mary was 11 registered nurse (Vancouver General Hospital, class of 1943) and she devoted her life to caring for all her family members. Mary had a strong spirit that helped her survive many challenges in her life. She always had encouraging words for others. She will be sorely missed. There will be no service by request. A family gathering to celebrate Mary's life will be held on August 12, 2006 at #39, 278 Island Highway, Victoria, B.C. at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers. a charitable donation to the charity of your choice or The Canadian Cancer Society, would be appreciated. The family would like to thank Dr. Dale Nicoll, Dr. Glen, Dr. Cunningham and the excellent staff of RJH, Royal 3 for the kind and loving care extended to Mary.
