DAWSON, MARY CAMILLA, native of New Haven, KY died July 3, 2014. She was born May 22, 1936. She was a resident of The Little Sisters of the Poor. Giving her life in the service to others, she joined the Ursuline Order, Maple Mount, KY. She received her teaching degree from Brescia College. She loved teaching, cherishing each student. Changing professions, she was asked to enter nurses' training at St. Joseph's Infirmary in Louisville, KY where she finished first in her class. She later cared for older sisters at the Ursuline Mother House. Camilla was loved by all who knew her; family, friends, students and patients. Camilla was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Edna Dawson, four brothers; Louis W. "Billy", Robert F. "Bobby", Frank X., and Rev. J. I. "Fr. Joe" Dawson, and one sister Miriam Hagan. She leaves to cherish her memory two sisters; Catherine Aline Pytleski, Greendale, IN, Mary Ann Bowling, Louisville, KY and one brother; George Thomas "Tommy", Baltimore, MD. Visitation will be held at The Little Sisters of the Poor, 17 Audubon Plaza Drive, Louisville, on Sunday July 6, 2014 from 3-7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday July 7, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of the Little Sisters. Interment will be at 1 pm. in St. Catherine Cemetery, New Haven. Highlands Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to The Little Sisters of the Poor.
