Obituary of Martha Dawson

DAWSON, MARTHA (FERRIELL), 84, died Friday, April 16, 2010 at her home. She was born in New Hope, KY, the 13th of 15 children of William Albert and Lillian Howard Ferriell. She was a graduate of Presentation Academy and a longtime member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul L. "Judge" Dawson; her son, Steve F. Dawson; and 13 brothers and sisters. Survivors include her children, Paula Staples (Ed), Ken Dawson (Rosemary) and Debby DawsonCrain (Larry); her brother, Jerry Ferriell (Jean), of Colorado Springs, CO; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral will be Monday, 10 a.m., at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 3345 Lexington Road, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, Sunday, from 2-8 p.m. "Mom was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, loyal sister, a good friend to many and generous to all who knew her."
