Obituary of Martha Ann Caldwell

of Winchendon; 66 WINCHENDON -- Martha Ann (Plummer) Caldwell, 66, of Winchendon, died peacefully at home, Tuesday morning, December 23, 2009, after a brief illness.Martha was born in Winchendon on January 8, 1943, daughter of the late Roger M. Plummer and Marjorie (Thayer) Plummer St. Pierre. She lived in Winchendon for several years before moving to Fitchburg, returning home to Winchendon 20 years ago.Martha was a graduate of Fitchburg High School, and she also graduated Summa Cum Laude from Fitchburg State College. Martha worked for Plastican in Fitchburg as the OSHACoordinator, and prior to her retirement was employed with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection for 18 years.Martha was an extremely kind and generous person. She donated to many different charities throughout the years, especially the Pat Brody Shelter for Cats in Lunenburg. She was always willing to help people in need.Martha loved all animals, especially horses and she enjoyed camping, gardening, fishing, skiing, hiking and taking RV trips to Canada. Most of all, she enjoyed the time spent with her two grandchildren.Martha will be sadly missed by one daughter, Heidi Barb Caldwell of Rindge, NH; one son, Eric John Caldwell and his wife, Nikki of Leominster; two grand-children, Eric "EJ" J. Caldwell Jr. and Jayda Elise Caldwell, both of Leominster; three sisters, Lois G. Gulliver and her husband, Ed of Sneedville, TN, Nancy J. Babineau and her husband, Jim of Rindge, NH, and Diane V. Seppala and her husband, Aaron of Rindge, NH; her step father, Ernest N. St. Pierre of Rindge, NH; her former husband, Howard M. Caldwell of Fitchburg; and several nieces and nephews.CALDWELL -- Family and friends are planning to honor and celebrate Martha's life by gathering for calling hours in the Fletcher-Hebert Funeral Home, 70 Pleasant St., Winchendon, MA, on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 from 4-6 pm. Her funeral service will take place in the funeral home immediately following the calling hours at 6 pm. Pastor Bob Daulton will officiate. Burial in Hillside Cemetery Rindge, NH will take place in the spring.
