Obituary of Marjorie-C. Neff


Marjorie C. Neff, 99 SCARBOROUGH -- Marjorie C. Neff, R.N., of Scarborough, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, at the age of 99. Marjorie was born Sept. 28, 1909, in Houlton, and was the third child of Kate (Dempsey) Campbell and Hugh Campbell. Her parents; brothers Bruce and Linwood Campbell and sister, Katherine (Campbell) Webb, predeceased her. She graduated from Houlton High School in 1927 and Worcester, Mass. Memorial School of Nursing in 1930. Her husband, Leonard A. Neff, predeceased her in 1992. She resided in Lawrence, Mass. until 1996 when she returned to Maine. She is survived by her sons Bruce and his wife Carol Neff of Methuen, Mass., and John and his wife Nancy Neff of South Portland; her five grandchildren, Michael, Heidi, Susan, Stephen and his wife Sue, and Kristine and her husband Peter Jendrasko; her five great-grandchildren, Shawn, Elyse, Olivia, Ana and Allison; her nephew, Bobby Campbell, Durwood, Md., niece, Donna Cyr, Woodland; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. The family would like to thank Marjorie's devoted caregivers at Pine Point Nursing Center. At the request of the family, there are no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held at the Emmett and Dewhirst Funeral Chapel, 93 East Haverhill St., Lawrence, Mass., on Monday, Aug. 10, 2009, at 1 p.m. Burial will be private In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International 120 Wall St. 19th Floor New York, New York 10005 Marjorie C.
