Obituary of Margaret-Rose-MC Carroll


Sister Margaret Rose Mc Carroll, 93, a Sister of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, died on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Saint Anne Villa, Convent Station, N.J. The wake for Sister Margaret Rose Mc Carroll will be held in St. Anne Villa, Convent Station, from 1:30 to 5:30p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 6 p.m. Burial will be on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, in Holy Family Cemetery, Convent Station, at 10 a.m. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of S.J. For more information, please visit their website at www.parsippanyfuneral.com Sister Margaret was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of Ambrose and Mary Scanlon Mc Carroll. She entered the Sisters of Charity on Sept. 8, 1941, and was a member for 71 years. Sister Margaret graduated from the College of St. Elizabeth, Convent Station, with a B.A. degree in music, and an M.A. degree in history from Seton Hall University, South Orange, N.J. Sister Margaret served in the education ministry in New Jersey as a teacher at the Academy of St. Aloysius, Jersey City, N.J., Marylawn of the Oranges, South Orange, N.J., and St. Mary of the Assumption, Elizabeth, N.J. Sister retired to St. Anne Villa, Convent Station, in 2007, where she resided until her death. She is survived by the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that contributions be made to the Sisters of Charity Development Fund, P.O. Box 476, Convent Station 07961-0476.
