Obituary of Mary-Ellen Maguire

MAGUIRE--Mary Ellen (nee McManus) entered into Eternal Rest on January 7th, 2014 peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family after an optimistic and courageous battle with cancer. Survived by her sons Robert D. Maguire (Kerry), James M. Maguire, sister Marjorie T. McManus, brother Paul M. McManus (Doerle), Robert W. McManus, Stephen McManus (Karen) and grandchildren Jack H., Matthew R. and Addison G. Maguire. Predeceased by her parents Dr. James W. McManus, Marjorie McManus Gilmartin, and her brother James W. McManus, Jr. Mary Ellen was the devoted wife of 50 years to the late Donald F. Maguire. She was a retired Guidance Counselor from New York City Dept. of Education, Ft. Hamilton High School and Bishop Kearney High School. Visiting: Thursday 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Clavin Funeral Home, 7722 4th Avenue Brooklyn, NY. Visitation to continue Friday, 11am at her beloved Church of the Precious Blood, 72 Riverdale Ave., Monmouth Beach, NJ followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name to the Church of the Precious Blood.
