Obituary of Lynn Nelson

NELSON Lynn, age 62, returned to the Lord on September 18, 2008 in the embrace of her beloved family who had gone before her. She served the children of New York for twenty-four years and kept their many good wishes as treasures on the occasion of her retirement from the New York Board of Education this past June. Her many colleagues in addition to loving family and friends, mourn the loss of a generous, faithful friend who loved travel, theatre, and living in the heart of her beloved Manhattan. Lynn loved and was loved, as evidenced by the stream of devoted loved ones and associates who kept vigil over her during her brief and final stay at Lenox Hill Hospital. The many lives touched by her gracious, encouraging presence will mourn her loss for a long long time.She is survived by her fiance, Nikola Vizner and his children; her goddaughter Susan Connolly Wan and her family, her cousins Jane Fehr, Dawn Maloy, Patricia Gibbons, and Jeanne O'Brien and their families; and scores of friends and colleagues who respected, admired, and loved her. May Lynn's soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God rest in peace.
