Obituary of Lynn-John McPherson


LYNN JOHN McPHERSON It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and best friend, Lynn John McPherson. Lynn was born June 20, 1946 in Fort Frances, Ont. to the late John and Clara McPherson. He passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances with his family by his side. Lynn was employed by Boise Cascade in International Falls, Mn. for 37 years, and was an active volunteer member of the Couchiching Fire Department for 20 years. He also was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church at Couchiching, where he served as Eucharistic minister. Lynn also worked as the caretaker of Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery. Lynn loved the outdoors, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and many dear friends. Lynn is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; children, Chris (Kristen) and Patrick (Crystal); and two beautiful granddaughters, Alexa and Logen, who were his pride and joy. Also left to mourn are Lynn’s brothers, Eugene (Ria) and Steve Mosher; sister, Gladys; brothers-in-law, Jim (Wendi) and Pat (Carrie Lynn); and sister-in-law, Pam (Gene) Carlson. Lynn was predeceased by his mother, Clara, and father, John; three sisters, Annette, Rosemarie, and Sue Ann; and brother-in-law, Robert Robinson. Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 12, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church at Couchiching First Nation, Ont. Fr. Francis Pudicherry will officiate, with interment in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery. Family and friends may visit Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008 from 7-9 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Parish prayers will be offered at 7:30 p.m., led by Deacon Elmer Mainville. The pallbearers will be Jim Murphy, Pat Murphy, Gene Carlson, Ronnie Schindel, Roy Allen, John Kaviuk, Brent Perrault, and David York. The honourary pallbearers will be Patty Kaviuk, Wendi Murphy, Carrie Lynn Murphy, Pam Carlson, Diane Schindel, and Tammy McLean.
