Obituary of Lucien-L. Raymond


Lucien L. Raymond, 84, of Manchester died April 22, 2005 at the Elliot Hospital after a short illness. He was born in Manchester on June 17, 1920, the son of Arthur J. and Cora (Allard) Raymond. He was educated in the local school system, having attended St. George Grammar School. During WWII, he served in the US Army Medical Corps and was stationed in England from 1943 to 1946. Until his retirement, he had been employed as a sheet metal worker with Pitco of Bow. He had also worked for Leitch Engineering for many years. After retirement, he was employed by the Currier Gallery of Art as a security guard. Mr. Raymond was an accomplished fiddler, having played with the Ken McKenzie Band from 1938 to 1941. He was also a skillful latch-hook hobbyist. He was a parishioner of St. Pius X Church. Members of his family include his wife of 64 years, Winifred I. (Hamm) Raymond of Manchester; three daughters, Marie Doyle of Manchester, Susan Michaud of Hooksett and Pamela Bouchard of Manchester; one son, Arnold Raymond of Allenstown; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; five sisters, Jeanne Montminy of Manchester, Lorraine Simon of FL, Pauline Harrison of Lady Lake, FL, Claire Raymond of Tampa, FL, and Marguerite Gendron of Suncook; three brothers, Armand Raymond of Denver, CO, Maurice Raymond of Goffstown, and Richard Raymond of Manchester; several nephews, nieces, and cousins. Calling hours at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St, corner of North St, will be Monday from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday in St. Pius X Church at 1pm. Encryptment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
