Lorraine Gallant 1918 - 2007 SHEDIAC-BRIDGE, NB - Lorraine Gallant, 89, of Shediac-Bridge, NB, passed away at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital on November 24, 2007 after a brief illness. Born in Grande-Digue on July, 8, 1918, she was the daughter of Late John Gallant and Late Marceline Belliveau. She was a Retired Housewife. She attended La Visitation Roman Catholic Church, Grande-Digue. Membre de L' Institut Féminin de Grande-Digue , Club D'âge D'Or de Grande-Digue, Animatrice du Club 4 H durant l'année 1970 et Dame Chrétienne. After a brief illness, Lorraine Gallant departed this life peacefully surrounded by what was most important to her, her family. A lifelong resident of Shediac Bridge, Lorraine delighted in cooking for family and friends, often graced the bowling lanes, and played many good hands of cards. All who dropped by the house knew her competitive side very well, as she was also an enthusiastic spectator of sports. In the summer you would find her watching baseball on TV or hockey in the winter. For her, the only teams worthy of her following were the Toronto Blue Jays and the Montreal Canadians. Lorraine has taken many traveling adventures, but was always most content to return home to her side of the river to enjoy her flower gardens. She is survived by four daughters, Marcella McCaie (Gerald) of Scarborough, Ontario, Louise Basque (Bernard) of Shediac River, Monique Gallant of Shediac River and Charline of Dieppe; five sons, Raymond (Simonne) of Rexdale, Ontario, Vincent (Jeanne) of Shediac Bridge, Jean-Guy (Murielle) of Shediac River, Marc (Joanne) of Shediac River and Daniel (Jocelyne) of Mckee's Mills; three half-brothers, Gerald (Freida), Eugène (Gwyn) both from Ontario and Jean-Paul from Moncton; two sisters-in-law, Louise (Léo-Paul) Bourque and Blanche LeGresley; 14 grandchildren, Sonia, Natalie, Serge, Glen, Lisa, Jennifer, Mathieu, Gabriel, Michelle, Julie, André, Denis, Nicole and Monique; nine great-grandchildren, Erika, Emily, Kathryn, Jessica, Jacob, Joshua, Makayla, Eric and Marc; 14 nephews and nieces, Joan, Ida, Cécile, Alfred, Lydia, Rose-Ella, Jean-Louis, Réginald, Normand, Jeannine, Lorette, Rolande, Rénee, and John. Predeceased by her late husband, Tilmon Gallant in July 27, 1982; four sisters, Ozélie, Srs Lydia ndss, Germaine and Jeanne; and three brothers, Alfred, Louis and Raymond; one niece, Patricia and one grandson, Julien. Family are honouring her life at Coopérative Funéraire Passage Funeral Co-operative in Shediac-Bridge with visitation on Sunday, November 25, 2007 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9pm and on Monday, November 26, 2007 from 2 to 3:30 pm. Funeral service will be held at La Visitation Roman Catholic Church Grande-Digue on Monday, November 26 at 4:00 pm. Interment in parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers requested by the family, a memorial donation to the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Foundation or to the Arthritis Society, Canadian Mental Health Association or donor's choice would be appreciated.
