August 15, 2005 Leo Fox died August 15, 2005 at the Finger Lakes Center for Living. He was born January 17, 1913, near Dexter, MO, but lived in Auburn for most of his adult life. Leo was a self-employed local businessman, most notably in the au-tomobile business. With his wife, Elizabeth, he was the owner and operator of Fox Auto Sales in Auburn and Weedsport. Leo was the impetus behind the eventual Fox Dealerships and remained active in the business he loved well into his later years. He was the son of Charles and Caroline Fox, both now deceased, and was the last surviving member of his family of nine children. Leo was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth Curtin Fox, who died April 9, 1997. He is survived by his son, William C. Fox (Sharon); daughter, Jane C. Fox (Beth Baroody); one grandchild, Oliver Fox Baroody, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his close friend, Harriet Kupferberg. He was a longtime member of the Highland Golf and Country Club, which recently made him a lifetime member. Family prayers will be held at Langham Funeral Home at 10 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at Saint Alphonsus Church on Friday, August 19, at 10:30 a.m. Friends are invited to visit the family on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Langham Funeral Home, 75 East Genesee Street. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the following charities: Auburn Memorial Hospital, Cayuga Community College Foundation Scholarship Fund, or a local charity of your choice. Leo lived his life with enthusiasm and a sense of adventure.
