Obituary of Lee-Anne Keating


Lee Anne (Vaughn) Keating Utica, NY On December 4, 2008, our Mom, grandmother, sister and friend, Lee Anne Keating, age 70, passed away, with her loving family by her side, at St. Luke's Home. Lee Anne was born in Utica, NY, on October 22, 1938, daughter of the late Glenn and Berenice McAllister Vaughn. She was raised in Whitesboro, NY, and was a graduate of Whitesboro High School. Lee Anne was employed by AAA of Utica, Lafayette Distributors, Oneida National Bank and Community Action. She married John C. Keating in 1957 and moved to Woodgate, NY, where they raised their family. Lee Anne always took such pride in her children and all of their accomplishments. Lee Anne is survived by her five sons, John C. Keating, II, and his wife, Lauren, of New Hartford, NY, Laurence W. Keating and his wife, Bethanne, of DeSoto, TX, Kevin J. Keating, of Old Forge, NY, Terrance F. Keating and his wife, Beatrice, of New York Mills, NY, and Brian P. Keating and his wife, Julie, of London, England, and two brothers, Jerry Vaughn, of Texas, and Laurence Vaughn, of Oklahoma. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, whom she was so very proud of: Jeffrey, Jonathan and Andrew Davies; John, Michael, Laura and Kathryn Keating; Jeffrey, Daniel and Nicole Keating; Justin Keating and Sara Moore; Victoria Spinella and Ryan Keating; and Rebecca and Megan Keating; and two great-grandchildren, Juliana and Joseph Spinella. Lee Anne, also known as 'Purple Grandma', will be greatly missed by her grandchildren. The family would like to make special mention to Lee Anne's most cherished friends, Pat Howard - thanks Pat for being such a great 'sister', and to Marge Clark for always being there. Lee Anne was predeceased by her infant son and by her infant granddaughter, Keri Keating. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Barton North, St. Luke's Home, for the gentle kindness shown to Lee Anne for the past three years, as well as to her family during this difficult time. The family would also like to say a special thank you to all of their family and friends for the ongoing love and support. You have made such a difference in these hard times. Calling hours will be Monday, December 15, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams &amp; Edmunds Funeral Home, Forty Main Street, Whitesboro. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m., following calling hours.
