Obituary of Lawrence-Everett Denison

Waterford - Lawrence "Larry" Everett Denison, 90, passed away Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013, surrounded by his loving family.He was born Nov. 21, 1923, to Alice and Everett Denison in Waterford.He was predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Lee R. (D'Elia) Denison.Larry was employed by Secchiaroli Farm for over 40 years. He proudly held the Navy title of 2nd class gunner's mate in World War II from 1941 to 1943. He received a Purple Heart for his actions of bravery. He touched the lives of many people and was loved by all of them.He is survived by his two daughters, Linda Anne Denison of Waterford and Loreen Michelle Thomas of Burbank, Calif.; five grandchildren, Denise Cassella of Essex, David Cascio of Virginia Beach, Va., Shelley Wise of Rising Sun, Md., Matthew and Emily Thomas of Burbank; and nine great-grandchildren, Jessica, Bryan, Kristi, Kyle, Christopher, Stephen, Aaron, Jonathan, and baby girl, Thomas.Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 11, at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons East Lyme Funeral Home, 48 Grand St., Niantic. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at the funeral home.
