Obituary of Kathleen-Elizabeth Kelleher

KELLEHER Kathleen Elizabeth Kelleher, age 87, of Milford and formerly a longtime resident of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Edmund Joseph Kelleher, died on Monday, July 2, 2007 in the presence of her family. Kathleen was born on December 20, 1919 to Joseph and Mary May. Kathleen grew up in Stratford and was a graduate of Stratford High School. Kathleen was a devoted mother whose family was very important to her and a great source of pride and joy. She was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Peace Church and was one of the founding member of (PYE) Protect Your Environment. She is survived by her nine children, Jane Ingversen and her husband, Gert, of Houston, Texas, Edmund Kelleher Jr. and Maureen Hughes of Milis, Mass., Timothy Kelleher and his wife, Karen, of Boston, Mass., Elaine Randazzo and her husband, Joseph, of Milford, Sheila Smith of Milford, Christopher Kelleher and his wife, Susan, of Milford, Lynne Shipchack and her husband, Justin, of Milford, Shaun Kelleher and his wife, Melody, of Milford, and Kathleen Martorano and her husband, Anthony, of Milford. She is also survived by her sister, Joan Griffen, of Stratford; and her two brothers, William May of Milford, and Frances May of Norfolk, Va. She was predeceased by her sisters, Margaret Galvin and Eleanor Hazlin; and her brothers, Thomas May, Joseph May and John May. Kathleen was a loving grandmother of 20 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main Street, Stratford, on July 5, from 4 to 8 p.m. The family will hold a memorial service at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Parish, 230 Park Blvd., in Stratford on Friday, July 6, for friends to share their memories in the celebration of her life. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery on Buckingham Avenue in Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St, Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
