Obituary of Kathleen-Edith-Ann Nicholas

NICHOLAS, Kathleen Edith Ann (Laird) February 15, 1942 - November 4, 2014 Kathleen (Kathy), born at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, BC, was second daughter of James Melville and Minnie Helen (Reid) Laird. Predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Bennie Leonard Nicholas, and sons, Christopher Reid and Daniel Matthew. Survived by sons, Benjamin (Sandra), Michael, and Donald (Kathleen); 8 grandsons and 1 granddaughter; sister, Maureen Joan (Alan) Archer; mother-in-law, Mabel Nicholas; brother-in-law, Robert (Diane) Nicholas; 4 nieces and 1 nephew; 4 great-nieces and 3 great-nephews. Kathy was an active member of Garden City and Cordova Bay United Churches. She was a Past Honoured Lady of Texada Lodge #151 O.O.R.P., 1972 - 73 and past Worthy Matron of Victoria Chapter #17, 2009 - 10, and Ruth Chapter #22, 2013 - 14 Order of the Eastern Star. Memorial will be held at Cordova Bay United Church, 813 Claremont Ave., Victoria, BC, on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Tea to follow at the church. No flowers by request. Donations to Victoria Hospice Society through the Order of the Eastern Star appreciated. Kathy will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.
