Karen Kelley, 92, of South Yarmouth, lost her battle against lung cancer on November 8, 2014. Karen was born in Hillerod, Denmark and was the wife of the late Thomas J. Kelley and the daughter of the late Jens and Alma Galberg. She was predeceased by her daughter Bonnie who passed away in 1961. She is survived by a daughter Nancy K. Evons of Chester Springs, PA, twin sons, Peter T. Kelley of Kingston, and Paul R. Kelley, and his wife Susan of Pembroke. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Jamie Kelley, Gregory Kelley, Samantha Lombard, Alicia Kelley, Eric and Chris Evons, and four great-grandchildren, Olivia R. Kelley, Jakob Kelley, Kellen and Saoirse Lombard. Karen graduated from North Quincy High School in 1940 and the Academe Moderne of Boston in 1942. She was an avid golfer, bowler and bridge player and belonged to the Bass River Niners, the Flower Shoppe Bowling League, the Viking Club of Braintree, and the West Yarmouth Congregational Church Womens Fellowship, where she also volunteered in their thrift shop. A memorial service was held Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the West Yarmouth Congregational Church in West Yarmouth, MA. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the West Yarmouth Congregational Church, West Yarmouth, MA, 02673, or the Lung Cancer Foundation of America in her honor.
