Obituary of Joseph Sgro

RINGWOOD — Services will be held for Joseph A. Sgro, 85, of this community, who died on Friday, November 1, 2013. Mr. Sgro was a radio technician for 33 years for Hackensack Public Service before retiring. Also, he was a volunteer fireman in Ringwood. He was a member of the Civil War Reenactment Club and a coach and referee for the Ringwood Football Little League. Arrangements are by the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, Hackensack. Entombment will be at Garden of Memories, Paramus. Mr. Sgro is survived by his wife, the former Eleanor Basile; his daughter, Patricia; his son, John; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Giuseppe and Carmela; his brothers, John, Jimmy, Dominick, and Carmine; and his sister, Mary.
