Obituary of Jose D-Almeida

D'ALMEIDA - On April 18, 2008, after a brief battle with leukemia, Dr. Jose Gabriel d'Almeida joined his son, David in heaven . Jose will be forever loved by his wife of 54 years, Mae; his children: Vasco (Lea), Joao Carlos, Mark (Joanna), Maria (Bill) and daughter-in-law Shelley; his grandchildren: Alisha (Chris), Ashley (Chris), Christopher David, Jordan (Donna), Daniel, Adam, Lukas, Claire, Isabella, Lliam, Avery, Gabriel and Julia; and his great grandchildren: Caleb, Cohen, and Matthew. Jose was born in Hong Kong in 1924. He married the love of his life in 1954 and in 1959 immigrated with Mae and their young family to start a new life in Regina. For 35 years he was a devoted family doctor. Jose's gentle, caring and professional nature made him an excellent physician. In 1989 Jose retired from medical practice to pursue his passion as a gentleman gardener. His life was rich with faith, family, song and music... if love were but a pebble, he built mountains. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Deveraj and the Palliative Homecare Staff for their compassionate care of our father and family. Funeral Mass will be held at Christ The King Church, 3239 Garnet St., Regina on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
