ObituaryJOHN TILTON ALLINGITHACA - John Tilton Alling, 68, of 623 Hudson St., Ithaca, NY, died peacefully at the Cayuga Medical Center on Sunday, April 20, 2003.John was a professional musician and performer including percussion, vocals and keyboard. He was well known and respected in the Finger Lakes area and elsewhere. John graduated from Ithaca High School, Class of 1953. He served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1957 with the rank of Musician Second Class. He graduated from Ithaca College on June 2, 1962 with a Bachelor's Degree in Music.John is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara; daughters, Carol (Mike) Carey of San Jose, CA, Diana (Carl) Boyette of Titusville, FL; sons, John of Ithaca, NY, Dana (Sue) of Rochester, NY, Rodney of Mesa, AZ, and Keith (Beth) of Fox Point, WI; and seven grandchildren, Niles Alling, Christina and Brian Carey, Carl and Sarah Boyette, and Kelsie and Noah Alling; sisters, Rose Szary, Jane Felber, Grace (Dick) Sprague, and Llola (Jeff) Monroe; brothers, Glenn (Irene) Alling, Neil (Kristin) Alling; and a sister-in-law, Jane Alling of Montour Falls, NY.Joe was predeceased by his parents, Vernon W. and Vera N. Alling; and a brother, Vernon.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 5, 11:00 a.m., at Frear Memorial Park. Memorial arrangements are under the direction of the E.C. Wagner Funeral Home. Contributions in John's memory may be made to the Frear Memorial Park, care of Neil Alling, 111 Woolf Lane, Ithaca, NY 14850.
