Obituary of John-M. Bond

BOND John M. Bond, age 89 of Naugatuck and previously a life long resident of Milford, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He was born on November 10, 1917 in Bridgeport and was the husband of the late Dorothy Ashelford Bond. Mr. Bond was a local union carpenter and builder for many years in the surrounding community. He was a graduate of Milford High School, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and in his youth served St Mary's Church as an altar boy and member of its church choir. Survivors include a daughter, Janice Bond of Naugatuck; a brother, James Bond of Florida; two sisters, Lucille Lowe of Maryland and Patsy LaPierre of North Carolina; two granddaughters, Lisa Berman of Colorado and Barbara Roddenberry of Florida. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara Berman and sister, Ella Bateman. Calling hours are Sunday, July 8, 2007 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Smith Funeral Home, 135 Broad St. "On the Green" Milford with a Mass of Christian Burial Monday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Church.
