Obituary of John Grimes

<!-- FH = Cremation Society of South Carolina-Westville Funerals --><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->John Robert Grimes West Union, SCJohn Grimes, of West Union, SC, passed away after a long battle with pancreatic cancer on December 22, 2013. Born in Lynchburg, VA in 1951, he moved with his family to Melbourne Beach in 1964. Johnny was a talented musician and vocalist and started his first band at the age of 13. He graduated from Melbourne High School in 1970 and later served in the US Army. After his military service he and fellow band members moved to South Carolina playing music venues throughout the Southeast. It was there he met Linda his wife of 37 years and raised their two daughters. He was employed at Duke Energy for 35 years. John is survived by his wife Linda; daughter's Brandy Bunton (Bert) of Columbia, SC and Beth Bottoms (Ben) of West Union, SC; grandchildren Enzy Rose and Eston Bunton; Bailey and Laney Bottoms; brother Don Grimes of Seneca, SC; brother Charles Grimes and sister Rose Grimes both of Indialantic. A memorial service will be held at Rocky Knoll Baptist Church in Walhalla, SC on January 4, 2013 at 2pm.
