Obituary of John-Edward Browning

BROWNING, JOHN EDWARD, 82, passed away early Thursday morning at his home. He retired from the insurance and real estate business. He was a member of Queen of Peace Church, Knights of St. John, Men of the Mount, St. Xavier Almuni Class of 1952, VFW. He served in the Army during occupation of Tokyo, Japan with the 1st Cav. Div. 7th Reg. He was preceded in death by brothers, Mac, Bud, Snook, Bob and Red; and grandson, Alex. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, the former Mary Elizabeth Caldwell and eight children, Beverly (Keith Sodan) of Cumming, GA, John Jr. (Terry) and Vickie of Louisville, Jane (Alan Rule) of Howard, CO, Ray (Monique) of Jeffersonville, IN, Thomas of Panama City, FL, Laurie (Ken Tichenor) of Corydon, IN and Susan (Mark Lamon) of New Salisbury, IN. Also survived by his sisters, Theresa Ward (Louis, deceased), Ann Browning and Mary Rough (Jerry); brothers, J. Henry (Ann) and Thomas (Shirley) Browning; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many wonderful neighbors and friends. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. Denis Church, 4205 Cane Run Rd. Visitation will be noon - 8 p.m. on Friday at Keenan Funeral Home, 4724 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY. Burial will be in Raywick, KY at St. Frances Xavier Cemetery.
